Biosphere Community Meeting

Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association

The Niagara Escarpment is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and is an important part of our region’s environment, its culture and its economy. The Niagara Escarpment Plan and the Greenbelt Plan work together to protect the Escarpment’s natural features while ensuring healthy, prosperous communities and they guide many decisions about the future of our region. A review of these plans began in 2015 which has offered people living and working in our area an opportunity to share their perspectives, concerns and ideas about the Niagara Escarpment and the larger Greenbelt area. The Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association and the Bruce Peninsula Environment Group are hosting a community meeting to provide information about the 2015 plan review and how we can all be involved. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 7:30pm at the Anglican Parish Hall in Lion’s Head and will feature presentations from the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and Niagara Escarpment Commission.
